Painted in Macau on Chinese porcelain and enhanced with heavy gilt trim, the bowl is a mid-20th century artistic interpretation that is reminiscent of classic Imari designs. A series of cartouche on both the interior and exterior of the bowl depict a lion and phoenix against an exotic ground of aqua, orange, green, rust, and blue. Substantial in size, this is a quality piece that measures 10” high quality in diameter, stands 4” in height, and weighs 3 pounds.
