Hand embroidered table runners made by Otomi women and men living in the central plateau of Mexico, famous for their colourful embroidery and unique floral and animal designs called “tenangos”. It can also be used as a bed runner, sofa cover or wall hanging.

FEATURES:
-Hand-embroidered by the native Otomi people from Hidalgo, Mexico in the municipality of Tenango de Doria.
-Motifs are inspired by local flora and fauna, and by nearby caves that date back to prehistoric roots.
-Each piece is embroidered with a finely “blind stich" technique, which can take about a couple of months of hard work to finish
-At least two people are involved in the process: a Tenango drawer and one or more embroiderers

OTOMI EMBROIDERY PROCESS
1.Artisans cut the Mexican “Manta” (an environmentally friendly and non-toxic cotton) in a special size depending on the project that is going to be embroidered.
2.A Tenango drawer hand trace using a pencil. Stencils are definitely not allowed, and the quality of the drawing will directly affect the final outcome of the embroidered piece
3.The piece is embroidered using a "blind stich" technique, where the thread is kept on the front of the fabric and not looped all the way to the back.

Gently wash with liquid soap
Don't scrub or scrunch it up
After washing it, hang to dry in the shade immediately

International orders are sent via tracked Australia Post Air Mail. This is a tracked method that takes 7-10 business days, but can be variable high quality due to different postage handlers in each country.
Due to COVID-19. International orders are taking up to 4 weeks to arrive, although normally arrive within 20 days.
