Coleus Calavo, one of the rare larger multi leaf Virginia Metalcrafters' patterns. This particular piece was sculpted by Oskar J. W. Hansen, in 1963. It is a wonderful example of the reason these rare leaves are so sought after today. Stamped on bottom, COLEUS CALAVO 4-33 OSKAR J W HANSEN VA. METALCRAFTERS 1963. Excellent condition, the original lacquer high quality is still intact. It measures approx 7" X 8 1/2" and 1 1/2" high Oskar J. W. Hansen (1892-1971) is known for his public sculptures at HOOVER DAM and the Yorktown Victory Monument. He was born in Norway, served in the United States Army and became a Naturalized Citizen of the USA. He built a home and artist studio in Virginia.
