Vintage SIMMONS Pail-O-Melk Cardboard Drum. This is a rare item. The colors on the paper advertising covering the drum are vibrant and intact except for aged wear and tear. There is discoloration at the bottom of the drum around the bottom lid. The lids are cardboard with a heavier card board ring, stapled as a frame to strengthen the lids. The drum is empty. The bottom lid has normal wear and tear and discoloration. The top lid has some info written in high quality pencil; it appears to have been used to store a woman's yarn at some point in its long life. There is also a certification stamp indicating the classification and specs of the integrity of the drum as a container for shipping this product.
Personally, I relate with this item. My sisters and I were raised on a dairy farm. One of our jobs was to bottle-feed the calves, so we mixed this type of milk supplement 2-3 times daily. We poured it in the bottles and fed the baby calves. Brings back fun, childhood memories.
