About the chrysocolla stone
Description: Bright opaque blue (turquoise) color. Sometimes with dark spots. Similar to turquoise. In the past, it could be found in the Land of Israel, mainly in the Timna area in the south. The name originates from Greek and means: golden glue. There is also gem-silica, a type of very high-quality chrysocola combined with crystal quartz (see end of recommendation). Gem-silica is clear and transparent and usually appears as a gemstone for jewelry, and priced accordingly.
Gemological information: The chemical composition varies, and is a combination of: copper, aluminum, silica, oxygen and water with the main material being copper. A soft stone whose hardness ranges from 2-3.5 is not recommended for jewelry. It is always opaque. Its average specific gravity is 2.14 grams per cubic centimeter (quite light). The crystallization crystallization is in an orthorhombic structure, mixed with a disordered rock structure.
