This iconic character has a very sweet baby-like expression that is hard not to fall in love with. Like other toys of the time, Teddy puppet was finely handcrafted in Germany. His endearing glass eyes are an indication of an early model, likely produced 1948? or early 60s. Steiff uses the nicest mohair plush and it is not a surprise that Teddy presents beautifully even after so many years. He has a hand-stitched nose, an open felt mouth and two big paws. His head is stuffed with excelsior (wood wool) and has a cardboard finger tube for movement. His bow is faded and still stitched to neck but has some fading.
