Sterling silver is an alloy of silver containing 92.5% fine silver and 7.5% of other metals, usually copper.

All sterling silver jewellery will tarnish over time. It can be caused by exposure to chemicals, moisture, humidity, sunlight, oxygen, acidity of sweat, perfume, hairspray, soap, shampoo, dishwashing liquid and bleach etc.

Regular clean your jewellery with a jewellery polishing cloth. Tissue paper or paper towels can cause scratches.

Store your jewellery in a cool, dry place, preferably in a unit-tarnish bag or wrapped in a piece of soft cloth. Make sure your silver is not exposed to air or sunlight during storage. Store pieces individually to stop knock together and scratch.
