This long handle pickle fork has the Gorham Trademark see photo #6 on the back of the shaft. This pattern, Lancaster (Rose), was introduced by the Gorham Co. in 1897. It is possible to find other old Gorham Servers with the Gorham name and the name Shreve or Vanderslice (two San Francisco Companies). Both were Silver manufacturers in early San Francisco, who had agreements with Gorham to make some of the Lancaster patterns. This Pickle Fork is 8 1/8" long and 3/4" across the tines and weighs 27 grams. It has a monogram and gold washed tines. ( A thin coating of gold to prevent tarnish from the vinegar.) This is the long handle Pickle Fork, to be compared with the short handled one at 5 3/4" long. See my other listing for the short and long handle Olive Spoons to go with the forks. If you have questions about any of my items high quality, please message me and I will glad to answer them.
