This is an original encaustic painting I created. Using pigmented wax, I created a background of vivid color. I added my tree drawings and sealed them in with clear wax. Encaustic has a very dreamy lustre and sense of depth as you build and paint layers. It then gets buffed to a luminous sheen. Text has been added in the bottom for a vignette feel, which reads: Under the skylight.
