Why should a company from Zurich or the Canton of Zurich besides the ch domain and evt. spend money on the Swiss domain and also register a Zurich domain?
With .zuerich, Zurich and zurich's economy can better present themselves on the Internet. Anyone can immediately associate the owner of a Zurich domain with Zurich. Many existing domains have the word "Zuerich" as an integral part. The courts in Zurich, for example, could be easily reached at gerichte.zuerich instead of under www.gerichte-zh.ch.
The display with the Zurich domain is more attractive and shorter - thus also more memorable. The memory of a domain is a decisive factor high quality in the marketing of websites.
You can easily redirect your new domains to your old website. And vice versa.
You may have had the opportunity to observe traditional fishermen on holiday. They cast not just one net, but several. Because they know: More nets bring more fish. Follow the example of the fishermen: More domains bring more traffic, so also more sales
A study by Searchmetrics for the Berlin domains has already proven the connection between a better ranking in search engines and the new top-level domains. Websites with Berlin domains are often better placed in regional searches in Google than websites with .de domains and .com domains. The result of the Searchmetric study can be summarized as follows:
"In 42% of search queries, .berlin domains rank better locally."
Since .zuerich, like the Berlin domains, are city domains, a future study on the .zuerich should come to similar results.
Another study by Total Websites in Houston shows that the results of the Searchmetrics study can in principle be transferred to all new top-level domains, including the Swiss domains and .zuerich. Total Websites notes that Google uses the domain extensions of the new top-level domains as an important criterion for the evaluation of a domain and therefore comes to the following conclusion:
"It is clear that the new top-level domains improve the ranking in search engines."
