Black Obsidian pendant hand-carved and engraved with a Quetzalcoatl eye symbol.
Quetzalcoatl is the most important god of the ancient city of Teotihuacan in central Mexico, where the culture that was established managed to establish great power over many peoples throughout Mesoamerica. Quetzalcoatl means "feathered serpent" and represented the union of the masculine and feminine parts in nature, representing it through a cross, the "Quetzalcoatl cross", and in turn, the city was represented by the Teotihuacan flower, a flower of four which are oriented to the four directions of the universe, just like the Quetzalcoatl cross.

The Quincunx
This is a sacred symbol from the Teotihuacan, Toltec, Aztec, Mayan, etc. cultures, it represents their cosmovision this amazing societies developed in Mesoamerica, it is so complex that we need a couple of hours to explain the meaning, but we can say, it represents the sacred opposites and the balance of the universe (the universe itself/The human being as a universe/the nature elements) all in Quincunx symbols.
The Quincunx appears in many different cultures all around the world(in figures like a cross, pyramids, sacred mountains, flowers, geometric figures, etc.) and most of the time with similar meanings. And in this particular pendant, we can see two different quincunx, the four petals flower and the Quetzalcoatl cross, both figures show the orientation of the four directions of the universe and the center that balances everything and this is the Axis Mundi of the universe, of nature, and of man (in the human body the center of our universe is in the navel). Each man can recognize himself, his strengths and weaknesses, his conscious and unconscious, and renew them to try to be better (but, better than ourselves, not better than others).

Work made in Teotihuacan, Mexico, created with natural material extracted from the largest obsidian mines in America. We select the best pieces of this volcanic glass to produce quality mirrors, although, being a natural element, some imperfections can be expected.
