Handmade tribal necklace, inspired by the ancient dwellers of the desert.
Necklace length: 19.5”
Adored with jasper, agate, tigers eye, unakite, obsidian & lapis lazuli.
The clasp is 925 sterling silver and fastens on a high quality sterling silver split ring for added strength.
The old handcrafted metal charms were made by the nomadic Kuchi tribe of Afghanistan, so please expect them to be perfectly imperfect.
Kuchi jewellery is often passed down from generation to generation, each having a significant story. The unique and eccentric jewels are also used for trading. Exchanged or sold by the Kuchi's to purchase products of settled life.
The non-precious metal they utilised is white metal, sometimes German silver or glit as they call it in Afghanistan. The central stone on the pendant originally would have been coloured glass, but over recent years was replaced with coloured plastic.
The pendants, charms & metal beads are all estimated to be over 30 years old.
Necklace care: Avoid getting wet - do not submerge in water. Remove before swimming, showering or bathing.
