High quality Large black ebony art nouveau era mourning buckle ca1890-1910 #481B

high quality A fabulous art nouveau, probably late mourning, carved ebony buckle. The buckle has 2 bars at the back to attach belting up to 1 3/4" wide. The buckle itself is 2 1/2" high by 1 3/8" wide, and is meant to be worn with the length in the vertical dimension because there is a wide flat hook at the back that would attach to a wide flat eye on the belting. The metal parts are japanned (painted with black enamel). The buckle is iconic art nouveau ca1890-1910, and it is in superb antique condition. $125.
