If YOU want to be the Belle of the Ball, this is certainly the Gown for YOU!
Formals in the 1950's & early 60's were FANCY, FRILLY, FLOUNCY, FUSSY & absolutely FABULOUS!! All this while creating a great FEMININE style, accentuating the HOURGLASS figure of a thin waistline, lovely shoulders & beautiful bodices---many times showing a bit of bosom!! and yards 'n yards of skirt that could measure a few feet across!!
After the Depression and War Years of the 1930's & 40's, the fashion world took off like a rocket, and the good economic times of the new decade made the most of the new styles...having access to dresses nearly like all the Glamour Gals on the big screen...but very affordable & ready-to-wear to the Prom or Gala or onto the dance floor!!
This lovely, light mint Mid-Century gown has some very nice features of the Mid-Century Gown: a beautiful bodice of an embroidered petite pattern of what look to be Lilies of the Valley, also the same material for the long see-through sleeves; the dress has about a 1-/2" stand-up collar all trimmed-out is white French Knotting, as are the wrists of the sleeves, and the same French Knotting all the way around the waistline, as well. The long lovely lined skirt is a plethora of PLEATS, starting at the waistline and all high quality the way down to the flowing, wavy, wired hemline. A Dream Dress, indeed! (The dress is shown with a crinoline, not included with the dress.)
There is no size label in the gown, and is probably a Modern Size 6 with the following APPROXIMATE measurements:
24"-25" Waistline
34" Bustline, underarm-to-underarm
Variable Hip area
54" Length, shoulder to hemline
This Gown is in EXCELLENT Vintage Condition with no issues I can see to even note!

THANK YOU for looking at my listings, and I am always more than happy to answer any questions or provide more photo's.
Please take special care to note the size, measurements and condition of any of the garments and items...we do our very best to be as accurate and precise as possible.
Also, please note that many VINTAGE CLOTHING items were 'Tailor-made' or 'Custom-fit' to the original wearer, and so may not fit YOU exactly the same; "Vintage Ladies" were a bit different in shape and so were their fashions.
