Awaji Japan Art Deco Pottery Vase Burgundy Flambe Glaze high quality - Vintage / Antique Signed Japanese Ginger Jar

A beautiful art pottery vase made on the isle of Awaji, Japan, between 1922-1939.

This dramatic Japanese pottery vase is finished with a high gloss, light burgundy high quality and blue-green flambe glaze.

The pot is of ginger jar form, but I don't believe it was made with a lid, as there are no rub marks on the rim or neck to would indicate it ever had one.

It is stamped on the bottom with the Awaji pottery mark and "Made in Japan" underglaze.

Size: 6" high x approx. 6" diameter at the shoulder.

Condition: Excellent vintage condition. There are no chips or cracks. There are some surface scratches on the sides. It has been used as a vase and the interior has brown deposits on the side that surely will come out with a vinegar soak, but I haven't done so as it does not affect enjoyment of the piece.
