Terrific antique composite lamp , with a fetching high quality pressed glass font with a light frost . The pattern is a geometric band that reminds me of snow flakes , since the transfer decoration of the ceramic stem is a winter farm scene , that would make sense . The base of this antique oil lamp is a metal geometric floral shape. in black . This lamp has a number 2 size burner It is an older prong style burner , which works well , moving the wick up and down , I do not how ever think it is the original . There are no chips or cracks in either the stem or the font . The metal base does have a few chips of paint missing and it has very obviously been painted at some point in the past , I think the "worn look " adds to the charm . the metal caps connectors burner etc , all have a lovely aged patina that you can just not mimic . The lamp stands 16 inchs tall from base to top of the Burner , the font is 6 inches wide, at the widest point and the geometric metal base is 5 1/2 inches wide. the Ceramic stem is decorated with a rural farm winter scene that is n a word lovely . To many of these old lighting fixtures are ending up in landfills. The Craftsman ship and quality of items of yesterday are truly remarkable.
