Fairy tale. Two high quality Frogs.

I am pleased to present to you a print from my original illustration. This is a very high quality print on limited edition 40 print matte photo paper, each piece is signed and numbered.

This is one of my illustrations from the Grimms brothers' fairy tale series "Ondine". It represents the scene in which the powerful Undine transformed the husband and wife into frogs.

In this picture everything is connected in Nature, plants, trees, grass, forests, lake, two animals and Ondine's hair. Everything is receptive and conscious. This illustration is created in the pantheistic and animist spirit; reality is divinity, all things make up an immanent and all-encompassing god. Thus, plants, places and creatures all have a distinct spiritual essence.

I wanted to represent Nature by painting it in gouache and to represent the two spouses, the two soul mates connected forever, no matter the animal high quality or human form by drawing them with pencils. It is therefore an illustration made in mixed media.

I was undoubtedly unconsciously inspired by the works of Frida Kahlo, Georgia O'Keeffe, Art Nouveau, Arthur Rackham and the Pre-Raphaelites. I hope this illustration will bring you peace, silence, beauty, serenity and inspiration.
