Beautiful utilitarian studio pottery made by David and Keiko Hergesheimer of Catalpa Lane Pottery. This is an older piece from the talented duo who trained in Japan. Lovely elongated spout balances the low profile pot. Low relief decor features bamboo and birds in flight. Delicate and striking.
Found at a local estate sale, with the business card and gift card (dated 1988) still inside the pot. I do not think it was ever used. Teapot is in high quality beautiful condition. It measures 6 3/4" in diameter at the bottom, 9" in diameter at its widest, 3 1/4" in diameter at the top, 10 1/2" long including the spout, 5" tall, 8 1/2" tall including handle. Signed on the bottom.
