Daniel Curtiss and Benjamin Stiles were partners from 1835 to 1840 in Woodbury, CT.
Front of fiddleback engraved with monogram "WJ", stamped on back of fiddleback "Curtiss & Stiles", and succession of owners as it was passed down through the family, "J.A.J.", "I.B.P.", "C.J.T.".
Likely handed down to commemorate an event such as Wedding, Confirmation, Graduation, etc.
Condition commensurate with age, slight dent in edge of bowl of spoon on right towards shoulder of stem.
Please note - I do not polish antique silver. I leave that to the judgement of the purchaser.
I have seen too many antique silver pieces badly worn from repeated energetic high quality cleaning.
