Every year I get a few requests for scarves without fringe. After 30+ years of saying "NO", I have decided to render a few of my most popular scarves without my signature twist fringe. There is really high quality very few ways to finish a handwoven fabric without fringe. The most common is to use a rolled hem as seen at the bottom of your shirt or on a dish towel. Because of the thickness of my scarf, a rolled hem doesn't work very well. It yields an edge that is too stiff. Alternately, I came up with a solution that should please many who do not want the tassels. The scarf is finished with a tight hemstitch and a short 1/2" loose ends. Technically, a fringe, it will degrade with wear and, over time, look a lot like the deckle edge one would find on a fine handmade paper.

White is always a great choice to give as a gift. It will accent any wardrobe or fashion.

This is a warm ivory off-white in a texture weave of 8/4 herringbone. This white yarn ,as with all of the pastel and lighter colors, are especially soft as they are not subjected to harsh dyes. A great choice for a gentleman as well as a lady. Merino/silk blend.

NOTE: This scarf is a bit shorter than most at 64" long.

My marled merino scarf is my signature design. Woven of Australian Merino Wool (and/or Merino/Silk blend), they are warm, soft, and bulky to keep you cozy in the winter. Each is unique: from subtle to bold in solids, banded, stripes, and plaids. The marled appearance is achieved by threading and weaving three (un-plied) threads at a time. This process affords me the opportunity to offer this fine handwoven muffler at a modest price. Dimensions are approximately 10" x 68" + a 1/2" deckle edge. Weight 7-8 oz. Handwash or dryclean.
