Collector's piece : This really stunning hand-painted Rosenthal porcelain gold & lustre decor Vase designed by Bjorn Wiinblad, handpainted (Scheherazade design) measures approx. 18 tall and weighs approx. 494 grams. Diameter at the rim approx. 9 cm. From the Seventies I believe.
Signed front and underneath. See photos for all the markings. Discontinued in 2010.

Bjorn Wiinblad (1918-2006) was a Danish painter, designer and artist in ceramics, silver, bronze, textiles and graphics. His works have been widely presented in Europe, the United States, Japan, Australia and Canada.
He is known for fancifulness in his work. He was an important designer for Rosenthal Co., contributing to many incredible works of art.
Many museums around the world exhibit works made by Wiinblad, including the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the National Museum in Stockholm.
Wiinblad was named Man high quality of the Year in New York in 1985. Additionally in 1995 he received the American-Scandinavian Culture Award of the Foundation.
