The GOLDEN AGE of Costume Jewelry was Mid-20th Century, after WWII, when the world was drastically transformed. The ladies in the new middle class saw the Hollywood Stars on the big screen 'dressed to the nines' and wearing sparkly gems galore, so the ladies in all walks of life wanted this beautiful jewelry, too---but much more affordable, of course! And VOILA...the jewelry designers began creating some of the most exquisite pieces imaginable, some far out-shining even the 'real' Heirloom Jewelry!
This BSK set---(B for Benny, S for Slovitt and K for Kaslo-Company produced signature jewelry pieces from 1948 to the 1980's)---consists of a 'brushed & buffed' gold-tone brooch inset with 12 Marquis-shaped & 2 round Rhinestones forming lovely sprigs of sparkly leaves, and clip earrings with a pearl nicely enfold in 'brushed & buffed' gold-tone leaves. Together, these pieces create a beautiful set that shines and shimmers with every move! The Brooch measures 1-3/4" by 1-1/2", and the earrings are about 1-1/2" in length.
This BSK Brooch and earrings are in EXCELLENT Vintage Condition with no issues whatsoever!
