high quality This is a beautiful sterling silver bangle bracelet from Mexico! The bangle is comprised of fine sterling silver and features an openwork, etched scroll design around its entire circumference. The bangle is wide and hinged with an oval shape that fits the wrist nicely. It closes with a secure box style clasp. It is a pre-eagle mark piece and I am dating it to circa 1940, although it may be much older. It is handmade and has a fabulous rustic quality that would not be found in a modern day, machine-made piece. It's absolutely wonderful!
The inner diameter of the bangle is about 2 1/4 inches and it has a bandwidth of approximately 12mm. Measured around with a tape measure, the bangle is approximately 7 1/2 inches. It weighs in at a substantial 26.5 grams. It is signed and hallmarked "Hecho en Mexico DF 925" in a circle around a maker's mark of "ACHL" on the back of the clasp. The DF in the mark indicates the piece was made in the Federal District of the City of Mexico. I was unable to identify the maker's mark.
This bracelet is gorgeous and very well made! It has such a marvelous handmade appearance that adds so much charm to the bangle. It's a great piece to add to a vintage Mexican silver collection and would make an extremely nice gift. The bangle is in very good vintage condition for its age. It has normal surface scratches and a slight patina from previous use and as mentioned before, it is handmade it has a rustic quality and variations that would not be present in a machine-made piece. There is one tiny crack in the silver on the inside of the bangle (photo #10). The crack does not go through and doesn't affect the integrity, functionality or beauty of the piece in any way. It's a fabulous find!

THIS IS A HANDMADE PIECE AND HAS A RUSTIC QUALITY AND VARIATIONS THAT WOULD NOT BE PRESENT IN A MACHINE-MADE PIECE. THERE IS ONE TINY CRACK IN THE SILVER ON THE INSIDE OF THE BANGLE (PHOTO #10) WHICH DOES NOT GO THROUGH TO THE FRONT AND DOESN'T AFFECT THE INTEGRITY OR BEAUTY OF THE PIECE IN ANY WAY.
