The Star of Bethlehem shines bright in the Christmas sky depicted on this simple piece of fabric art. Two smaller stars made of different shades of yellow balance the picture, and the background navy blue sections are meant to look like the night sky, with a stained glass window effect. I found this star pattern in a coloring book, and immediately wanted to create a fabric stained glass window based on high quality it. This Gothic window wall hanging is made in the same way I make a bed-size quilt, with three layers sandwiched together with a pattern. I chose the free motion line and star pattern, and I like the way it shows on the yellow of the stars. From the back, you can see that each of the 30 sections are outlined , which helps them puff up a little from the fluffy cotton batting underneath.
