Vintage Vernon Kilns, Aloha Plate, by Don Blanding, high quality Lei Lani Pattern, made for Trojan, 9 1/2”

Vernon Kilns was the name used by Vernon Potteries, Ltd.
The company, which started in 1912 in Vernon, California,
was originally called Poxon China. In 1931 the company
was sold and renamed Vernon Kilns. It made dinnerware
and figurines until it went out of business in 1953.
The molds were bought by Metlox, which continued to
make some patterns. Collectors search for the brightly
colored dinnerware and the pieces designed by Rockwell
Kent, Walt Disney, and Don Blanding. Vernon's plaid patterns
are also favorites among collectors. Vernon Kilns Blanding
in 1947 to create the Lei Lani dinnerware line.
It has a very bright intricate floral design.

This is a rare, hard to find, Vernon Kilns Aloha plate, The
rim is white, and textured. Most of these plates are printed
and smooth rimmed. The white rim really sets off the floral
design, and the beautiful coloration .

The pattern is set on a white and burgundy background
with multicolored flowers and Hawaiian floral patterns.
It measures 10 1/2" across high quality and is in excellent condition with
no chips, cracks, or fleabites. A well made plate the weighs
1 pound 4 ounces unpacked.

It would be a great addition to any Hawaiiana,
tiki, or Vernon Kilns dinnerware collection, or
fabulous as a stand alone item on a shelf of
table.
