Woven using alpaca fiber rug yarn, fiber coming from our previous herd and others. A rich, medium brown base has complementary inserts of light fawn. high quality All natural color, all natural, renewable fiber.

The alpaca rug yarn has a 6 strand jute core for the base, with alpaca fiber wrapped around it. Multi colored cotton warp threads run throughout this piece.

Weaving was done on a 1960's era, vintage floor loom that has been "brought back to work". As grandma used to do, only using a different medium.

A tough, durable fiber, yet pleasing underfoot with its softness. Somewhat water and stain resistant, two more characteristics of alpaca fiber, makes this rug easy to clean.

Easy care ~ easy clean. Do not place in wash machine. Remove loose dirt by shaking out or with a vacuum cleaner. Place on sidewalk or over the deck and spray with water hose. Hang over line to dry (do not dry in dryer). Spot clean with carpet cleaner such as Woolite, if need be. A thin slip pad may be needed on some flooring types.
