Jewelry Box Large Wooden Decoupage NoDAPL Theme with Sitting Bull Cannonball Map Native American Dakota Access Pipeline Water high quality Protectors

This rectangular wooden jewelry box is one of my recent creations.

It is my tribute to the struggle in North Dakota high quality between the water protectors and the oil companies. The front has pictures of Sitting Bull, a Navajo woman and the landscape and animals that can be found in the Dakotas and the desert southwest. There is a vintage map showing the area in which the struggle is taking place.

Inside the box continues the tale with a vintage illustration of the black snake, the water that will be affected, another tribe that has dealt with this struggle (the Navajo) and what this area will look like if left up to the devices of companies who cannot see beyond their bottom line. There is soil obtained from Chimayo, NM to bring blessings on the art. The details are too numerous to mention. It is what my mind saw about the circumstances surrounding this issue.

The box itself measures approximately 11" x 9" X 2.5". The size of a small cigar box although it was not one.

Sealed with a durable acrylic finish. Brass hinges and latch.

One of a kind wooden jewelry box would make a great way to start a conversation about this issue. Could be used to hold objects or just to tell a story. 20% of the proceeds go to Stand with Standing Rock.
