Product code: *BAKELITE* 1940-50 Black Jewelry high quality SET, Vendone Necklace, Unmarked Earrings
*****Black Bakelite***** This is a "married set" of a marked Vendome necklace, and unmarked clip-on earrings. Both are black Bakelite and will go nicely together, the earrings probably are of an older date than the necklace*. They both have the expected Bakelite smell (formaldehyde) that validates this type of plastic identification. Both items are in excellent condition for their age, please see photos for reference. In comparing the earrings to other examples that I could see, I believe that they date to the 1940s. The backs on them are the originals- they were pressed into the plastic at the time of molding. They wear comfortably without pinching. I am willing to break up the set, they are only paired together out as they go together well and are both vintage Bakelite. Please message with inquiries regarding this. *Vendome was created high quality as a subsidiary of Coro Jewelry in the 1940's and continued in business until the mid-70s.
