These locking jump rings are perfect for your jewelry designs. The wire locks into place for a for a secure closure. Illuminates the need for soldering jump rings
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Use two smooth or nylon jaw chain nose pliers to grip the sides of the high quality jump ring at the 3 o'clock and 9 o'clock positions, with the opening at the top.(Using your fingers will not work)
2. Holding the left side steady, twist the right side of the ring a quarter-turn away from you. (Note: I like to open these a little wider than I normally would a jump ring) Place your chain, charm, or finding onto the Jump ring.
3. While continuing to hold the left side steady, twist the right side back toward you a quarter-turn past the closed position.
4. Begin to bring your Jump ring back into the closed position. As you twist back, very gently push the right side in just enough to make sure that the edges of the two ends make contact with each other. You will hear a click. Keep your pliers steady on the left side.
5. Twist the right side back and forth very slightly a few times while pushing inward to align the two ends. This will work harden the silver into the closed position. The ring is now "LOCKED" securely.
Please note: prying the rings apart may damage your jump rings.
