Set of Six Ed Langbein Original Cantaloupe Melon Bowls Made in Italy, Vintage Majolica Pottery These six Ed Langbein Original cantaloupe shaped bowls are vibrant and fun. The orange color is deep and bright, and the yellow-green is a great replica of the melon's skin in real life. This melon bowl design was made in Italy, although Langbein was an American designer. He worked in Brooklyn in the 1930s through midcentury, and his works are found in the Museum of Modern Arts (MoMA). The bowls high quality have a couple of spots where the glaze and color have flaked away along rims as shown in picture but no major chips or cracks. Each bowl measures about 6" in diameter by a little over 2-1/4" tall. May be some crazing from age. Otherwise in good vintage condition.
