Hand Carved and Painted Large high quality Gourd with Turquoise Gemstone, Iridescent Glass Bead, Clear Glass Marble. Ocean, Seaside, Beach Decor accent.,

I painted this Gourd in hues of blue, green and turquoise with pearlescent touches and carved lovely undulating curves reminiscent of the majestic Ocean. This is a piece of functional art and pays homage to my island childhood of swimming and surfing, I would spend hours in the waves. This Gourd was inspired by the dichotomy of the Ocean and it's unyielding, deadly power and serene and calming beauty. This would be a lovely accent piece in a Seaside retreat or as a housewarming gift for someone who loves unique art. I created this to be functional as well as beautiful. This can also be used as a jewelry caddy ... I have secured a turquoise velvet pad in the bottom so you can place jewelry or any kind of little treasures in there and the Gourd Stem with a lovely clear glass marble can be used for rings. You can also hang earrings off of the many sculpted edges. Another idea would be to place dried flowers or grasses in it, you are only limited by your imagination! Of course it can always stand alone as a beautiful Art Piece to accent your decor!

The dimensions of this piece are as follows: From top of Stem to bottom of Gourd is 12-1/2 inches and the Gourd itself is 11 inches tall. Width at widest section is 10 inches in diameter and the width at top half of gourd is 6 inches at diameter. The turquoise pendant piece is 40mm round and the iridescent dichroic glass bead is 16mm square. I also created a slightly larger velvet pad that you can set this gourd on, that matches the one that is secured inside. I always recommend that you or (the recipient) places the gourd away from wind prone areas, or little hands or paws as these gourds are fragile. I secure mine to shelves with tacky putty or strong tape as we have high winds here. Of course it you place a heavy object inside that helps as well.
