Nymphenburg cup and saucer espresso mocha coffee porcelain royal high quality silhouettes garden scenes park Rudolf Sieck Jugendstil 1912
This charming and rare lot of the royal porcelain factory Nymphenburg in Munich dates from 1912. The décor (model number 833) was created by the painter Rudolf Sieck (1877 - 1957). Black silhouettes of trees and/or shrubs and a lady, sitting on a chair, reading a book. This décor still shows features of Art Nouveau (modern style / noodle style). All the edges are golden the color of the bottom of the cup is a light beige almost yellowish. The cove is white with a golden line. Porcelain is very fine, almost translucent and very light, no chips, no accidents.
Under both objects there is the green mark of Nymphenburg.
Both items are in very good condition given their age. The saucer has a small production defect, see last photo. I would like to point out that vintage objects always show traces of wear which proves that they have been used, appreciated and cared for. Look at all the photos and see for yourself, sometimes the pictures say more than the words.
