Vintage 70s Heavy Wine Opener / Corkscrew - Old Fortress Castle KEY - Solid Brass & Lovely Verdigris Finish - ITALY - Sommelier Gift from FashionPuss.

Made in Italy around 1970, this rustic beauty belonged to a wine lover who had an extensive wine cellar and loved to put on dinner parties and entertain back in the 60s, 70s and 80s. He sadly passed away over 14 years ago and some of the lovely gifts he received from friends, fellow collectors and dinner guests are just now being discovered.

This is a SOLID cast brass wine corkscrew fashioned into the shape of an ancient castle or fortress key. It weighs a very solid 6 ounces; but could be worn by a host, hostess or sommelier around the neck on a heavy silk cord (not included). The sharp, stainless steel inner corkscrew is released with a mere half turn of the top of the key (it is not loose, nor is it too tight - but you have to actively turn the top to slide the corkscrew out of the key shaft.

There are no makers marks; but it's extremely well made and the finish is both rustic lovely (see all photos closeups).

SIZE: 5 3/8" long x 2" wide across the top of the key x about 1/2" thick at the shaft

CONDITION: In excellent working order - no damage or other issues and the finish is wonderful.
