Kind, Wise and Strong is from my new "Collaged Wisdom" series. It is part of my efforts to use vintage textiles, handwork, laces, trims and buttons from forgotten dark drawers. This piece is approximately 18" x 48.5" (not including the hanging ribbon loop) and is done in beautiful neutrals of beige, cream and soft browns. I used vintage lace, trims and crochet work, as well as fabric yo-yos I made, old buttons, crystals and cording. The top is trimmed with some fancy beading fringe. I have appliqued "Kind, Wise, Strong" with tiny zig-zag stitches. The fabrics are interesting "collages" and high quality. The backing is a sepia tone collage and the binding is high quality a beige mottled. I used a lightweight cotton blend batting and quilted in simple rows. All embellishments are securely attached. The piece could be washed, although I would recommend spot cleaning. This is my own design - totally original - and will not be duplicated. American made in my smoke free home studio.
