Palo Santo, also called 'holy wood', is used to calm stress and clear negative energy. It also has an amazing aromatic resin that brings a wonderful aroma to any room.
I hand select the prettiest pieces from my local specialty wood store, and then hand select the best palo santo sticks to complement each piece, resulting in a one-of-a-kind, functional art piece that beautifully holds jewelry.
I hand sand the woods for a smooth but still rustic finish, and I leave them untreated high quality to retain the natural beauty of each piece, and to ensure the palo santo remains aromatic.
Each piece is meant to display as art and still perform well as a jewelry holder - they are best hung perfectly perpendicular to the wall (not slanting forward) to achieve this. They are also not meant to be used to hang heavy items - these are for jewelry only.
The idea for these originated from my own need - I wanted something to hold and display my own jewelry that did not take up countertop space. I made one of these for myself and I cannot overstate how much I love it. I also absolutely love making these - ensuring each one is balanced, the wood colors and shapes are functional and coordinate with the chosen piece of specialty wood, and smelling the palo santo...it's a very rewarding process for me.
