My mother was a botanist. She retired and traveled the world, made beautiful quilts and needlework. This gorgeous blue needlework was handmade by my mother. She called it "Hawaii Sand & surf". It is a beautiful combination of blue turqouis threads with black and silver accents. Some of the treads have a high quality metallic sheen. It is abstracted patterns created with a variety of stiches. The artwork is aproximatly 5"x5" in an 11" electric turqoise frame. It is double matted with a tuqoise iner mat and a grey outer mat. My mother often showed her work and offten won awards and ribbons. This peice won a 3rd prize at The Magnolia festival and a 1st at the Bryan County Fair as stated on the back of the piece. It is ready to hang in a dimond format but could easily be switched to hanf square. There is a small scratch on the lower right side of the frame but is not really noticable when hainging on the wall. It will be shipped with care.
