GORGEOUS Soft Blue Antique Floral Ticking high quality Fabric 1940-1950 Damask Cotton Sateen Antique Pillows Ticking

Gorgeous vintage blue ticking fabrics with a floral motif. They are European damask fabrics manufactured around 1930-1950 to make mattress covers. These fabrics are unused. Very rare! A treasure from one of the last factories of the Mediterranean. Cotton with strong and dense weight. They have quite some sizing (starch) that disappears when washing, becoming very soft and moldable. Strong textiles perfect for upholstery projects. These fabrics will gain in softness the more they are washed. In all three fabrics the pink thread has a satin look.

HISTORY OF TICKING FABRICS: This type of fabric was used to make mattress covers since 1880. It is a very durable and resistant fabric but at the same time absorbent and breathable. The motifs used are very varied: floral, oriental, country, palatial, or striped and the colors very bright. These fabrics were produced from 1882 to 1980 in the Area of Igualada, known for its textile industry. 

We have a collection of 200+ ticking fabrics that include old never used stock and recovered pieces from antique mattresses. They're unique fabrics. They really are the last ticking fabrics with such genuine and unique characteristics in Europe.
