'Not idly do the leaves of Lorien fall'
(Or Mirkwood)
The sister ring to my Leaves of Lorien ring, Mirkwood is also inspired by naturalistic elven jewellery, each leaf is formed by hand beating recycled copper sheet into a unique shape then carefully adding the veins with a punch.
I then match a pair of leaves together and solder them onto a 1.5mm copper band. The band is textured and stamped with a subtle branch design.
Please note copper solder doesn't exist so the solder is silver and is visible, on this ring some bled into the veins of the leaf, I like it so I left it!
The one ring you see here is the one you will get.
The band is left open so one size will fit most, the finger modeling here is around a size M/O.
The ring is sturdy but can be fairly easily bent by hand to adjust the fit.
If you let me know high quality your ring size when you orde I can set it to around this size for you so you won't have to adjust it too much.
Please note I have filed off all sharp or pointed edges, but due to the nature of leaf shapes they do taper to a rounded point, please be aware they can sometimes catch on clothing.
Copper will tarnish over time and can sometimes turn green, this is easily cleaned off with Brasso or similar copper polish.
I was never really interested in wearing jewellery as I always thought it too shiny, too perfect and without character.
In Summer 2018 I made a simple silver ring with a falling leaf design and I've worn it ever since.
My designs are inspired by the shapes and textures of nature, every piece is different and none of them are perfect. I like the uniqueness a slip or slightly wonky edge gives to a design, so don't see it as a flaw.
