This 43" by 81" cotton tied winter quilt in the Nine Patch pattern dates to the latter half of the 1800s and does understandably have issues. There is overall light soiling including many areas of faint discoloration as shown. May or may not soak out. (I have not tried.) Many of the fabrics are shattering and one block is almost entirely shattered. Appears to be due to the high quality acidic nature of the dye. There are also a few seam separations. I do not think this quilt is usable other than for wall decor or study as it would not stand up well to laundering. It is handsewn and aesthetically very appealing. There is a floral scent that may be the result of a storage sachet. I am listing a few more quilts from the same estate that all have the same scent. Priced accordingly.
