Twin Power Lines high quality 4”x4”framed mini quilt

This series is based on childhood memories of observing the world through a car window. Hitting emotionally somewhere between a sad song and a happy childhood memory, these small quilted pieces explore constructs of consumption on the landscape. This particular piece features hand and machine stitched power lines with reverse high quality appliquéd hills and cloud in the background. Materials include repurposed clothing, scraps from other quilters, and upholstery remnants. The papier-mâché frames contain recycled paper in acrylic medium. The main techniques are hand embroidery, reverse appliqué, hand dyeing, and machine stitching.
