Up for sale is a fine oil painting on stretched canvas, which depicts an autumn/winter scene of a creek flowing through farmland. The painting is signed "George Hardy" at lower left. It is undated, but based on the age of the canvas, I would date this to the 1930's or 1940's. I haven't been able to find any information on the artist. There is a listed George Hardy that lived in the 19th century, but I do not believe this is the same high quality artist. The painting is titled, "Happy Hollow Farm" on verso. There are two places that go by that name, one in Washington and one in Missouri. It's an incredibly-detailed and well-rendered piece of art, showing a true master's touch. The painting is in great condition, with minor wear, particularly some scuffing at upper right and upper left. Frame has a few minor dings. Painting measures 20 inches wide x 16 inches high. Frame measures approximately 24.25 inches wide x 20.25 inches high.
