MEASURING YOUR WINDOW:
********MEASURE WIDTH*********
Measure the width of window area you are covering. Choose a tie-up that will cover the rod area plus any side returns on the rod.
This valance can be used on a continental rod or a decorative rod. A continental rod will have a return that wrap around the sides of the window frame (usually 2" to 4"). Make sure to measure the wrap around on both sides of your window if you are using a continental rod.
A decorative rod should be measured between the brackets to get the finished width of the valance. This will be a flat valance without any ruffling.
Depending on how your rod is mounted, you may need a few extra inches on either side of the window opening.
If you are using an inside mount rod, use the exact window opening measurement.
