Antique Dog Die Cut high quality Stander

Late 19th C Dog Die Cut Stander (easel Back)

This wonderful old die-cut spaniel was found in an old paper collector's estate along with several others.

Dimensions: 6 inches tall, 3 3/4 inches wide at his base.

Made of pressed and embossed paper, he is in very good condition with minor signs of wear attendant with age and use (see photos). His back had been re-glued high quality a very long time ago. We must remember that these were produced as toys and were played with.

While sweet pup is not marked anywhere, he is of the quality produced by Raphael Tuck and came in a set of such ephemeral toys. I will be listing a rabbit and squirrel in other listings.

Sweet pup is a treasure as these standers are incredibly hard to find, and few survived the handling of childhood playtime.
