high quality Thank you for checking out my made-to-order BLOSSOM MIRROR, part of a series of 'mosaic' wall mirrors available in the summer of 2022. Handmade in Austin, TX, every aspect of the production is executed by me directly and in partnership with a local workshop...from creative concepting to sourcing materials to cutting, painting, and assembling the finished pieces to packaging and shipping.

In this series, I surrounded a 10" round mirror with 6 evenly spaced 10" circles offset by 3" (this makes for a total diameter of 16"). This approach enables a variety of designs, all depending on whether the arcs are combined or separated. This BLOSSOM design occupies the middle of the complexity scale, with 12 distinct pieces fitting together like a puzzle. You may see a flower as I do...or even a wreath...or perhaps just pure geometry. To each his own!

The BLOSSOM design features two layers of petal-like arcs and utilizes 4 colors: red, red-orange, and 2 distinct orange tones. This combination evokes any number of bright garden blooms. Marigold, zinnia, and cosmos come to mind, but there are plenty of others you may see. How cheery this would be in your kitchen, sunporch, or entry hall!

I included 4 other designs in the photo montage for this listing to showcase the possibilities that this core approach enables. If you look carefully, you will see that the RAINBOW mirror is the simplest, with only 6 arcs. The FREEDOM, MID-CENTURY, and CHRISTMAS mirrors have 18 pieces. (Prices increase as the piece count goes up given the additional work required.) My inspiration in creating these mirrors drew from my lifelong love of visual arts that showcase simple shapes, geometry, pattern, and balance...qualities that I expressed in my architecture and fine arts studies at Yale but then put aside in order to pursue a corporate marketing career. Now that I am retired, I have returned to my creative roots...making things that make me smile, have practical application, and are outside the norm of decorative arts.

I approached this concept with respect for current interior design trends, where bold colors, simplicity of design, and an expression of fun continue to be desirable. Bringing nature indoors is also featuring prominently in design guidance. And let's not forget that the use of curves in furniture and decor is a key design principle of 2022. My 'mosaic' mirror line fits right it!

The core materials are MDF (medium-density fiberboard, a wood product), acrylic paint, and a beveled glass mirror that is 10" in diameter. It attaches to the wall with a sawtooth hanger.
