Mary is inspired by the delicate features of antique porcelain ballerina dolls, and my goal in making her was turning a very damaged, little articulated doll into an elegant, if still artistically damaged, ballerina. The Raven Queen doll started out with sharpie damage and pin holes on her face, which her winged eyelashes and cracks disguise. Her body was mended with acrylic paint, her skirt made from tulle, and her hair made from acrylic yarn, accented with artificial flowers.
With her stand she can stand alone, making her ideal for display, but she is still very fragile and can be easily damaged if handled indelicately.
