After reading through this book, I'm not so sure that humor has become more sophisticated since the Victorians laughed.
This book, from 1903, Up To Date Conundrums, includes a lot of jokes that people are still telling and laughing over.
Some are real groaners, some are pretty witty. You want to put it down and walk away, but you can't. "Just one more," you cry, as they remove it from your frozen grasp.
Really, when was the last time you heard someone use the word "conundrum"? Does another copy of this book even exist? Now that's a conundrum.

All in all, it is a pretty rarified high quality find and the illustrations are totally delightful and ample.
The book measures 6 by 4.5 inches. Just the right size to carry in your pocket and whip out when you need something particularly witty to say. Amuse your friends! Use them to make memes!
