About hand picking weaving:
Hand picking woven bands were used as decorative bands for traditional Lithuanian clothes, but it was also used as belts, headbands or legwraps. The hand picking weaving technique is used to create strong and narrow bands with a lot of various and nice patterns. This method goes back at least during the XVIII ages where many patterns have been found in Lithuania.
There are 5 ethnic regions in Lithuania. This sash is located in the Dzūkija region.
