These skins have a story that we want to tell you.
When we arrived in Sardinia, one of the first things we had to accept, was the strong attachment to the pastoral traditions of the inhabitants of the rural hinterland.
One of these traditions is the slaughter of animals, inevitable procedure that the food market requires Sardinian shepherds who, inevitably, must choose, even detesting the thing, some cattle to "sacrifice" to carry on their business.
But shepherds live with their own sheep every day and losing one is equivalent to losing a fragment of themselves. Sardinian shepherds find themselves having to sell the skin of their animals at an insignificant price.
Thus, we have chosen to give more value to these creatures, to give them even more dignity. Sardinian sheep skins treated with salt.
We have chosen not to chemically treat leathers to follow the ancient traditions of the place.
