The adapter is removable and you can get different adapters. It's an in genius system that Tamron invented. This is an extremely high-quality lens in practically new condition. The zoom range allows you to do wide-angle shots of people in groups or landscapes right down to portrait focal length of 80 mm. It also has a macro function for doing close-up photography so it really is an ideal starter lens.
