Baby rays grow in protective capsules attached to algae, which are then thrown empty on some beaches when the baby ray is born. This capsule, which at first glance looks like a beetle, dries and hardens in the open air.

As such, it is part of the survival-oriented Series of The Oysters.

The sculpture is completed with superfine wood high quality cellulose and then painted with acrylic paint in tones of salmon, pale pink, black and copper gold, patchwork style.

The work is signed by the artist.
